Note:

  • All signers must be physically present and fully understand the document(s) they are signing.
  • Names on the document(s) must match the name on the identification.

The following forms of identification are accepted:

  • California Driver’s License or California ID Card (can be expired, but must have been issued within the last 5 years)

  • U.S. Passport (or passport card)

  • Driver’s License or ID card from another state

  • Mexican or Canadian Driver’s License issued by the appropriate agency

  • U.S. Military ID (must contain photo, physical description, signature, and a serial/ID number

  • Valid Foreign Passport

  • Employee ID issued by an agency or office of the state of California

  • ID Card issued by a federally recognized Tribal Government

  • Valid Consular ID issued by a consulate

  • The Oath or Affirmation of one or two credible witnesses

OUR FEES

Pretty in Ink Notary Express do not notarize documents, we notarize signatures on documents.  Therefore, if a document  requires two or more signatures,  each signature must be notarized separately.  An additional travel fee is applied based on your chosen location.  Below are some pricing examples:

A Notary Public is an official appointed by the state government to witness and certify the signing of important documents, administer oaths, and perform other specified acts to deter fraud.

A Notary Public can notarize various types of documents, including affidavits, deeds, contracts, powers of attorney, auto titles, wills, weddings/divorce documents, and more.

As a Notary Public, we cannot tell you what type of notary you’ll need.  This information is determined by you or the party requesting your notarized signature.  You will need to provide us with this information prior to performing notary services.  Below are the most common types of notary in California:

  • Acknowledgment – This type of notarization involves the signer acknowledging that they signed the document(s) voluntarily and that the signature is their own.  We will verify the signer’s identity and witness the signing of the document(s).

 

  • Jurat (or Verification upon Oath or Affirmation):  With a jurat, the signer must swear or affirm that the contents of the document(s) are true and accurate.  We will administer an oath or affirmation, and the signer signs the document in our presence.

No, we are not authorized to provide legal advice or services.  We can only verify the identity of signers and witness the signing of documents.

As of now, the state of California does not permit Notaries to perform remote online notarizations (RON).

  1. Review the document: Familiarize yourself with the document that requires notarization. Ensure that it is complete and ready to be signed.
  2. Gather identification: Bring acceptable forms of identification, such as a valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport, state ID card). Make sure the name on the ID matches the name on the document.
  3. Complete any necessary forms: Some documents may require additional forms or information to be completed before notarization. Ensure that all necessary fields are filled out accurately.
  4. Verify requirements: If you have specific instructions or requirements for the notarization process, communicate them to us in advance. This will help ensure that your needs are met during the appointment.
  5. Schedule an appointment: Contact the us to schedule an appointment at a convenient time and location. Be punctual for your appointment to avoid delays.
  6. Bring payment: There is a fee for our services, which will be provided prior to your appointment.  An invoice and payment link will be sent to you the day of your appointment via email and/or text.  This gives you the option to pay via credit card or PayPal.  We do offer alternative options for payment as well.  Please review our payment options, decide which will work best for you, and be prepared to pay for services rendered.  Payment will be due during the time notary services are being performed.
  7. Be prepared to sign: During the appointment, be ready to sign the document in our presence. Follow any instructions provided, to ensure proper execution of the document.

Yes.  Pretty in Ink Express has the right to refuse to notarize a document if we believe it is incomplete, contains false information, or if the signer does not meet the requirements for notarization.
